Camping at Wisteria

With over a decade of serving the public, Wisteria is an established full-service campground.

With both open field and woods camping, there are many options.

Wisteria is situated on 620 private and rural acres in beautiful southeastern Ohio.  We are in the rolling foothills of the Allegheny mountain plateau region of the Appalachian mountain chain. Scattered throughout this enchanted land are forests and fields, winding trails and streams, rocky outcroppings, caves, and lush plant and animal life.

Facilities & Services

ATM.  ATM is available during Wisteria Market and Office hours.  Accepts major credit and debit cards.  Limited withdrawals per transaction.

Water.  There are a series of blue water faucets throughout the campground.  This water is drinkable.  Please do not wash dishes at the water stations.

Cell phone recharging.   Charging stations available for recharging cell phones.  Use at your own risk.

Compost.  Place food scraps in the 5-gallon buckets provided near the wastewater stations.  Compost buckets are marked "compost."

Dishwashing.  Bring a series of buckets for clean-up if you are cooking at camp.  Dispose of wastewater in the gray wastewater barrels provided for that purpose.

Phone.  Phone for outgoing collect or calling card calls.  No incoming phone service.  Cell phone signal is spotty.

 Sites.

All campsites are within easy walk to potable water, grey water stations and porta potties. Wisteria has all its porta potties pumped daily during large events.

Campsites are not outfitted.  Bring your own tables, chairs, cooking apparatus, tarps and all other camp gear that you need to be comfortable.  Please secure your tents to hold up in case of rain. Tarps are highly recommended.

Showerhouse.  Hot water showers are located at the top ridge near the Gatehouse entrance.  Please be considerate of others waiting for their turn.  A simple castille soap (Dr. Bronner's) is provided in the showerhouse. Portable solar showers are permited.

Wastewater.  Pour liquid wastewater (no sewage and no big solids) into the gray wastewater barrels throughout the campground.

Wisteria swimming pond

Swimming Pond.  The pond is available for swimming during limited hours.  If you have never experienced swimming in a natural place, plan to spend some time in Frog Pond.  Do not go inside the gate when locked (grounds for eviction).  During season, we also have a clear-water pool beside the pond.  Swim at your own risk as no lifeguard may be present.  Please use the highest amount of safety and common sense around the water to keep the Pond safe.  The pond is tested daily for sanitary conditions and will be closed in the event of rain/thunder.

Lost and Found.  Drop off lost items at the Lost and Found in the office.  Items not claimed by the close of the event will be disposed of within 6 months.

Mail.  Drop off stamped mail at the office for mailing.  To arrange other mail services, check with the office for availability.

Parking.  After off-loading your gear, please move your vehicle to parking.  Please do not use up valuable parking spaces with non-essential vehicles.  Consider disabling your car alarm for the week.

Food.  Bring everything that you need to cook at your campsite (including grill and table) or plan to eat with the food vendors.  Food vendors will have a variety of items for both omnivores and vegetarians.  You can eat a few meals or all meals with them.  Those on specialized diets may need to bring their specific food to supplement what is offered for sale.  See the "Food" page for more on food vendors.

Note: Food Venders are not set up at all events. Please check event descriptions for food options.
